Aula Viva: Take your Portuguese to the Next Level

I am super excited and very proud to announce Aula Viva.

Street Smart Brazil has partnered with Taba Theatrical Production to offer you a unique workshop on Brazilian Portuguese. Immersed in a rich atmosphere filled with the best of Brazilian cultural elements, you will have the opportunity to practice the conversational abilities that you have been developing.

 What is Aula Viva?

A common life situation is performed to you by an actor/instructor:

• WATCH the short performance (about seven minutes long) twice
• ASK questions about the scene: vocabulary, colloquial language, grammar, and cultural aspects of the story. Let your curiosity speak up!
• CREATE and PRACTICE: After breaking apart all the nuts and bolts of the story, you will work in a small group to create your own dialogue based on everything that you have just learned. 

All this happens in a safe environment and all along you will receive feedback from expert instructors.

This interactive, creation-based method brings to life everything that you have learned as a student of Portuguese. This is a great opportunity for you to live your Portuguese!

The performances/scenes that we use are adaptations of contemporary Brazilian literature. The text and the performance are designed with your learning as our main goal.

Larissa Garcia is an actor, comedienne, and Brazilian Portuguese instructor born and raised in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. After landing in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006, she decided to combine acting and teaching and happily found that it works wonderfully. Bringing to life characters and situations from Brazilian daily life and culture has proved an effective method of instruction.

Using words, movement, images, and sound, Larissa will coach you to take one big step further in your Brazilian Portuguese journey.
