Books & Audiobooks to Improve your Portuguese

In my recent trip to Brazil, I spent quite some time in bookstores, as usual. I have always enjoyed livrarias. My mom says that when I was very little I would spend a long time in bookstores reading comic books. She said that by the very serious look on my face you would think I was reading about the meaning of life :) I also remember visiting bookstores when I was a teenager spending vacation with my family in Rio, Fortaleza, or São Paulo. Simply put, I feel happy inside a beautiful livraria.

The good news is that this time I got books and audiobooks for me and for you, students of Portuguese!

I got a wonderful thesaurus (dicionário de sinônimos e antônimos) and a book about idiomatic expressions. The other books are not textbooks; they are books in Portuguese about different topics of interest. I brought a few business books to help you improve your business vocabulary; audiobooks to work on your listening skills; several books by Paulo Coelho, including his most recent one; and some other wonderful reading options such as Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Mirror, a delicious book about brigadeiro, one about coffee, another about wine, and more.

The goal is to help you develop fluency and expand your vocabulary in areas of your interest.
