New Group Class Starts October 19!

Street Smart Brazil is launching a new group class for you. We carefully crafted a program that will be both fun and challenging. You will learn and enjoy speaking practice in a safe, expert environment with Street Smart Brazil instructor Renata Barboza-Murray.

To ensure that you get the best out of the class, our group will have a maximum of six students.

This is a beginners program designed to also add value to those who have recently started their language journey. In seven weekly meetings you will learn to:

• Introduce yourself
• Describe people and places
• Express wants, likes, and dislikes
• Discern between the verbs Ser and Estar
• Use the present tense of regular verbs
• Talk about actions in progress
• Use the past tense of some key verbs
   

Class Program

We want you to make an informed decision when joining the class. Please do not hesitate to email us if you have any questions. To make the best out of your time and help you progress in conversational Brazilian Portuguese, we will jump right into working with important verbs and related vocabulary. In addition, we are planning a class in which you will be able to practice what you learn. It is important to build a strong foundation, as this will make the rest of your journey smoother.

What we will cover in this class:

• Greetings
• Verb Ser and related vocabulary (describing yourself and others)
• Questions & affirmative and negative answers (breaking the habit of saying “sim” so you can answer like Brazilians do)
• Verb Estar and related vocabulary
• Verb Ter
• The present progressive tense (e.g., I am learning, They are speaking)
• The present tense of regular verbs
• Expressing likes and dislikes (verbs Gostar, Querer, Preferir)
• Verb Ir
• The future tense
• Past tense of verbs Ser, Estar, Ter, Ir
