Still Time to Register: Intermediate-Advanced Group Class Starts Oct 19

Repetition and practice are crucial for learning a language. I was talking about this with my student Cathy today. She is a Pilates instructor and she was telling me that we need 1,000 repetitions to fully learn something new and have it as second nature. When we have a bad habit, it takes 10,000 repetitions to replace it with a good habit.

What is a bad habit in learning a language?

Being able to communicate ideas with incorrectly conjugated verbs is a bad habit. Being able to understand the general meaning of what is said but not learning how to say it yourself is also a bad habit.

In our class, repetition happens in a natural way. Our program is packed with street smart expressions: Useful constructions that are simple to learn, extremely handy in conversations, yet not taught by conventional textbooks and schools.

We are planning a class in which you will be able to practice what you learn. It is important to build a strong foundation, as this will make the rest of your journey smoother.

Course Program

We have changed the program that was initially posted here. Considering the currently registered attendees, this will be an intermediate to advanced class; ideal for students who are conversational and who have fair listening comprehension skills. We will practice verb conjugations to make them come naturally, build vocabulary, and learn practical, street smart expressions that you do not learn from conventional textbooks and schools. The class is conducted 100% in Portuguese.

Our methodology includes structured practice, free conversations, and audio-visual resources. All class materials are included in the price of the program.

When: Tuesday, October 19 – Nov 30

Time: 6:30 to 8:00 PM

Price: $262.50 for a total of 10.5 hours of instruction
