1. Could you tell me about the Street Smart Brazil Instructors?

Street Smart Brazil instructors are not only Brazilian Portuguese native speakers; they are incredibly knowledgeable instructors who are totally fluent in English and share a passion for the Portuguese language and the Brazilian culture. In addition, your instructor is trained with the Street Smart Brazil method and materials and has access to a rich library of class content; Luciana personally compiled and continually updates this library. 2. Are there any registration fees?

Street Smart Brazil does not charge registration fees. You pay for the lessons that you will take. It is as simple as that.

3. When do I need to pay for the lessons?

Your enrollment is only confirmed after we receive your full payment for the program. Please keep in mind that our groups are small. You can pay online using any credit card through a secure connection. Please visit our Group Class page.

4. How do I pay for the lessons?

5. How do I know if this class is a good fit for me?

We, at Street Smart Brazil, want to make sure you are able to make the right decision in choosing to join the class. We ask you to take a look at the course program to ensure that it is what you are looking for. Knowing what you will learn and practice is much more empowering than identifying your language level through a test, especially considering that level classifications vary drastically from one school or method to another. 6. Do I need to buy books or pay for class material?

No, you don't. All class material is given to you free of charge. You will receive the Street Smart Brazil original content workbook for your class and we will also bring to class everything that we need for the activities that we have planned for you. Just bring your notebook and your dictionary.

7. It is great that all the course material is included, but I would still like to buy a good book. Any recommendations?

Yes, please read our book reviews and visit the Street Smart Brazil Store for a list of learning resources.

8. What happens after classes are over?

After your session is over you can choose to continue your group lessons or switch to private classes. Assuming that we have a minimum of three students, we will launch another fun group program for you to continue your language journey.

9. Can I audit a class?

Our class activities are planned and designed with the number of students in mind. We do not allow guests to sit in the class. We hope you understand that we do so to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience to our students.

10. I missed or will need to miss a class. Can I have a make-up class or a refund?

If you missed or will miss a class, please email your instructor and she will let you know what topics were covered in class and how you can prepare for the next meeting. Because we make a point of having small groups and strive to offer the highest quality in a cost-effective way, we do not have the ability to offer make-up classes or refunds for missed lessons. We appreciate your understanding. The same applies for corporate training: There is no refund if students miss a class.

11. I started a group program but cannot continue taking classes. What should I do?

After the first class there is no refund for dropping the program. For corporate training, there is no refund in case some of the students drop the class or if a class is canceled. 

12. I enrolled in a group program that has not started yet and I will not be able to take the lessons. Can I get a refund?

To issue you a refund for the total number of lessons we need to learn about your cancellation at least 10 days before the class start date. If you cancel your participation in the group less than then ten days before the first day of class, we will refund you 80% of the amount you paid. In all cases, a $35 processing fee will be deducted from your refund.

13. I would love to warm up before the classes. How can I do so?

We have a few great ways for you to get up to speed!

  • Visit our blog. There you will find cultural tips and video lessons that cover both vocabulary and grammar topics. 
  • Subscribe to our YouTube channel! Watch our visit lessons and explore our Playlists. They include music, news, and more.
  • Join our Facebook community. Everyday we post colloquial vocabulary, language tips, music, news, and events there.
