We have the same in Australia, because of the aboriginal names, places like:
Mooloolah, Mooloolaba, Eudlo, Eumundi, Beerwah, Buderim.... these are just a few names of the towns less than a 40min drive from my home.... I'm sure you could go nuts for hours... haha

Nice. There is an old town next to Recife called Olinda, and the story goes it got its name by people saying "Oh! Linda!", or "Oh, how pretty!" I guess we have our fair share here in California with places like Belmont ("beautiful mountain"), Palo Alto ("Tall Pole"), and Mountain View (speaks for itsself, or you would think until you went there and realized there are, in fact, no mountains to view).
