Tudo Bem. Poderia ajudar me com dois questions?
Primeiro, Que e o difference entre bonita e linda? Are they completely synonymous or does each one have its own intended usage?
Segundo, I''''ve noticed in the portuguese language that the definate article is sometimes used before the portuguese word que. When should we use o que and when should we just use que? Desculpe, si isto question e muito complicado.

Yea sorry about that, there was a rogue PHP setting when we migrated the site to the new host (fittingly, it is called Magic Quotes). Fixed now--'see' :)
Hey guys, we recently changed our web hosting service and now we have this problem with the quotation marks multiplying. Funny enough, the problem has been named Magic Quotes. We have just fixed the problem.

To answer the questions above:
1. Linda = muito bonita (very beautiful).
2. Que = What & O que = What
They are used differently.
O que cannot be followed by a noun. It is usually followed by the verb Ser or by the pronouns eu, tu, você, ele, ela, nós, vocês, eles, elas.
Examples with que:
- Que cidades você conhece no Brasil? = What cities do you know (have you visited) in Brazil?
- Que tipo de música você prefere? = What type of music do you prefer?
- Que barulho foi esse? = What was this noise?
Examples with o que:
- O que você faz? = What do you do?
- O que ele vai dizer? = What will he say?
- O que é "montanha"? = What is "montanha"?
- O que vamos comer hoje? = What are we doing to eat today?

I felt bad that all of whom he had to learn from was me but I didn't want him to go completely unanswered! It all makes sense now with the server swap too. I have been there before and that's why I stuck to being a musician and not a webmaster :) You guys are the best at what you do....

I found, in my limited experience is that when you use the article in front of ''''''''que'''''''' it usually means ''''''''what'''''''' ex.

As for the difference between ''''''''bonita'''''''' and ''''''''linda'''''''' I don''''''''t know what the difference is....it might depend on the culture of the language/region perhaps?
