Recife/Pernambuco Info/Websites Needed
Como vai voces? I am so happy to say that I will be marrying my girlfriend, a Brasileira from Recife. We also hope to start a family as well.
With this in mind, since being with her I have become very interested in Recife. Besides learning about this beautiful city and area, I hope in time to, even from afar be a part of the city/area. I want to keep up on the goings on. Also, if I can find something affordable, I possibly would like to one day invest in an apartment or house there, perhaps one day able to move down there. I'd like to become more familiar and get active within the community, supporting a church, civic causes, new business, etc. Especially recently when many were devastated by floods I wish I could have connected and helped in some small way. If I could help even one person, I would feel great and feel a part of the community.
I'm sure I haven't looked in the right places but I have not had luck finding good, local websites to tap in the community. Most of the websites I hit are mostly foreign, especially when it comes to real estate where they only list extremely expensive properties. I just want to tap into the Recife/Olinda/Pernambuco scene hitting the same sites the locals do, get involved and be a part of the scene, even from here in Boston. If you Luciana or anyone can suggest some sites to try it would be most appreciated. Sorry if I was vague, my interests are wide but any suggestions to get "inside" Recife & Pernambuco would be helpful.
Muito obrigado;
Jimmy
Muito obrigado Luciana. I am very happy & fortunate to be with someone so special. I appreciate any information and help you (and others) can provide regarding good local links/websites for Recife & Pernambuco.
Jimmy
I can think of one but its for tourists. It's called Recife Guide (http://recifeguide.wordpress.com) and I know you didn't mention João Pessoa, which is above Recife, but there's a nice site I know of for there (http://paraibaparadise.com/).
Congrats on the good news!
