I grew up in Minas Gerais, Brazil from 1963-1974. I them lived in Rio until graduating from EARJ (Escola Americana) I like to read and listen to Portuguese to keep up my skills, but also because it brings back memories of a beautiful time in my life! I have a husband of 28 years, a son who is 26 and a daughter who is 23. She will be living in Rio for the next six months working in Favela Rocinha as a volunteer! Life has come full circle for me as I return to Rio to help her get settled! Life is good :) Cherri was the name that my turma Brasileira gave me - easier to pronounce and a very dear term - Congratulations Luci on a great website!
